Rain disrupts BP and Araniko highways

By Kedar Timalsina, Kavrepalanchok, July 6: Different places of the BP highway connecting eastern districts have been disrupted because of the incessant rainfall from Friday evening. 

According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok said that the highway has been blocked owing to the floods that has come in torrential streams along the Kavrepalanchok section of BP Highway. 

Information officer of the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)  Raj Kumar Shrestha said that torrential streams from Narke, Roshi Rural Municiaplity-8, Mangal Janabijaya Secondary School located at Charsayabesi of ward-9, Kaldhunga-11 and Mamti ward-12 has obstructed the BP highway. 

He said that efforts are being made to resume the blocked road by mobilizing a team under the command of the Police Inspector of the Area Police Office, Mangaltar.

DSP Shrestha said that the one-way traffic on the disrupted road in Lashkot-7, Roshi Rural Municipality`-7, has been resumed by operating the JCB  excavator. 

He said that efforts are being made to open the blocked road by deputing a team under the command of the police inspector of the area police office, Mangaltar. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha said that among the blocked roads, the blocked road in Lashkot, Roshi Rural Municipality -7, was opened one way with the help of excavators and JCV.

According to the Police, the debris deposited by the torrential stream at 52 kilos, Panchkhal Municipality -8 along Araniko Highway has been disrupted due to incessant rainfall. Efforts are being made to resume the road with the help of JCB in cooperation with the local levels.
