Experiences of former MPs vital for parliament: NA Chair Dahal

Kathmandu, July 1: Chairperson of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, has said experiences and the learnings of former parliamentarians are always useful for lawmakers of the new generation.  

Inaugurating the 24th AGM of the Former MPs' Forum Nepal here today, the NA Chair stressed that former lawmakers should hand over their learning to the new generation to increase the efficiency of parliament. 

"There remains no doubt that the Forum's advice to the parliament, government, and the nation will be always relevant and significant," the NA Chair said. 

Lauding the roles of Forum during the drafting of the Constitution, he said its initiations and submissions are vital in dealing with any possible political oddity successfully in the future. 

Stating that the Constitution was a historic achievement following the people's long struggle and sacrifices, he said time demands all of us to deliver keeping the Constitution at the center.  He applauded the role of the Forum in building collective views on national issues.

 The Forum has done the role of a consultancy to the parliament, he said. 

The event was attended by former Speaker Taranath Ranabhat and former members of the NA and the House of Representatives.(RSS)
