Best farmers awarded in Karnali

By Our Correspondent,Humla, June 30: Chief Minister Best Farmer Award has been given to three farmers of the district for this year. 

On the occasion of the 21st National Paddy Day, three best farmers of the district were honoured with cash prize and letter of appreciation. Lamu Tamang from Hekpa village of Namkha Rural Municipality-1 has been awarded by the Chief Minister Best Farmer Award for exemplary work in the agricultural sector of the district. 

She has been awarded a cash prize of Rs. 40,000.  Similarly, Govinda Jaisi of Changkheli Rural Municipality-3, who has succeeded in getting the second position, has been given Rs. 30,000 in cash and a letter of appreciation. 

Likewise, Takla Chiring Lama of Simkot Rural Municipality-3 won the third place. He was awarded with Rs. 20,000 along with a certificate of appreciation.

Bakhat Khadka, chief of the Agriculture Development Office, Humla said that the award was given to the three leading farmers to be awarded on the occasion of National Paddy Day on Saturday. 

The award was presented by Bijay Bhandari, Chairman of Simkot Rural Municipality, Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Pokharel and Prem Bahadur Lama, Chairman of Namkha Rural Municipality. 

A total of 25 farmers of the district had applied for the award, the farmers have been selected based on selection criteria, including initial evaluation and technical evaluation. Khadka said that the three awarded farmers are commercial farmers.
