Joint patrolling in Nepal-China border area

By Gun Bahadur Roka, Sulikot, June 15: A team of the Border Outpost (BOP), just established in North Gorkha, and Chinese security personnel have jointly patrolled for the first time.

Chief of the Armed Police Force, Gorkha, Suman Bogati, said that a discussion on completely banning any unwanted activities at the border area was held on an unofficial discussion between security personnel of both countries on Friday. 

Chief Bogati said that the agreement has been made to completely ban any criminal activities with regular contact between security personnel of both countries and through collaboration and a joint patrol by the security personnel stationed BOP, established at Samdo, Tsum Nubri Rural Municipality-1, on southern Gorkha, and Chinese security personnel at Roila Bhanjang 35 number border pillar.

The Roila Bhanjang check post of Samdo, Tsum Nubri Rural Municipality, is a main checkpoint for commute between Nepal and China, so the government established a BOP there. 

Locals used to use the Roila Bhanjang route for transportation and goods and materials but it has been blocked for five days. 

According to the Armed Police Office barrack, Gorkha said that a friendly discussion was held between security personnel of both countries after the establishment of BOP at Samdo on June 27.
