By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 11: Yashasvi Pragya Pratishthan has called for all the authors and publishers to send their books for the Yashasvi Book Award, 2024.
A press statement issued on Monday by Ranjana Niraula, the Founder and Director of the Pratisthan, read that the books of different genres written in Nepali or English by Nepali authors published within 2080 BS from Nepal or abroad may compete for the awards.
"Three copies of the books should reach the office of Yashasvi Pragya Pratisthan, Ghattekulo, Kathmandu by July 5," read the press release.
According to the statement, one book from each genre including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, translation and history or research, a total of five books will be selected for the awards.
The award carries a purse of Rs. 20,000 and a certificate for each book.
It is informed that the awards will be presented to the authors on September 7 during the 3rd Kathmandu Kalling Literature Festival which is scheduled to be held on September 7 and 8.
The annual Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is one of the leading international literary festivals from India which is being held annually at Bhubaneswar of Odisha. Yashaswi Pragya Pratisthan has been hosting the Kathmandu edition since 2022.
"The 3rd Kathmandu Kalling Literature Festival will feature over 400 authors from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka" added the statement.
