By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 10: A trailer of the documentary ‘Pacheda,’ focusing on the Chepang community, has been released.
Dipendra KC, once busy and successful in music videos, has made the documentary.
Currently, KC is busy with the production of a documentary titled Katha Bhitraka Kathaharu and has released the trailer of Pacheda recently.
After studying at the Oscar International College of Film Studies, he has prepared a documentary as an endeavor to stride in his journey of film direction.
He created the documentary with the help of Bishnu Bahadur Praja, a local of Ward -4 of Manhari Rural Municipality of Makwanpur district.
The documentary delves into the issues faced by Chepang communities, said KC.
“Although it looks like a movie, this is a real story. Through the documentary, I have tried to show the story of Santalal’s family’s struggle for survival,” said Dipendra.
He utilised his film direction studies for the documentary to satisfy his creative aspirations. The documentary tells the story of Santalal Chepang, and Dipendra filmed it in three schedules.
“I not only shot a documentary there, but I also got an opportunity to interview Santalal and understand their pain closely, said Dipendra.
I desire to bring change to their lives and community, said KC.
Santalal and his family are featured in the documentary, which was filmed in their new settlement in the Manhari Rural Municipality of Makwanpur district.
The documentary was produced by Binita Chhetri along with director Dipendra and Balkrishna Khadgi served as the co-producer.
The production company, Dev D Production, has announced that the documentary will be exhibited in several countries, including Australia. The documentary will be exhibited in the Chepang settlement as well.
