Kathmandu, June 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' said federalism would go strong by delivering services as per the people's aspirations while calling for positive efforts from all the agencies concerned.
Prime Minister Dahal said this at a
meeting with the office-bearers of the Inter- Legislative Forum at the PM's
residence, Baluwatar, this morning.
"The formation of the Forum
for making parliament effective is important. Such discussions are necessary
periodically. The government will take the Forum's findings seriously and make
attempt to address them in maximum", the PM said.
During the discussion, the Prime
Minister said that a debate was going on between the supporters and opponents
of the federal democratic republic and better 'delivery' should be given to the
people.
"We are in favour of
strengthening the federal democratic republic and effective implementation of
the constitution", he said.
"The opponents of federalism
are trying to spread disaffection on the system by attacking the provinces. We
need to discourage such tendencies. Province and local governments should be
strengthened by giving good 'delivery' to the people", Dahal
explained.
According to the Prime Minister's
private secretariat, the PM said that he was taking initiatives to conclude the
federal civil service act and police integration work at the earliest.
