Morang, June 4: Chief Minister of
Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has vowed the enforcement of government
policies and programmes announced for the fiscal year, 2081/82.
Talking to media briefly after
unveiling the province government's policies and programmes on Monday, CM Karki
viewed the government is responsible for fulfilling the commitments made in the
programmes, which have also reviewed last year's budget.
"The province government fully
reviewed the last year's budget and the policies and programmes so that it
would not be difficult for us to enforce the announcements made for upcoming
fiscal year," he reiterated.
He however expressed it warrants
attention and study why the income of federal government was increasing and the
incomes of the local and provincial governments decreasing. The CM asserted
that the province had witnessed tremendous progress irrespective of limited
means and resources.
According to him, new laws are
required to implement the programmes announced by the government.
"Although the province's budget was reduced as compared to the past, the
allocated amount would be helpful to meet people's needs and aspiration,"
the CM reminded.
The CM further said province
government could not think anything except people's prosperity and
happiness.
He viewed although it has been
nearly two decades the country got federalism, people had not realized change
they had aspired. So, concerted efforts by all three tiers of government are
imperative, Karki underlined. (RSS)
