Republic Day celebration: In pictures

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 28: A special program has been organized at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel on the occasion of the 17th Republic Day on Tuesday.

President Ramchandra Paudel, Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chief Justice of Supreme Court Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Dahal, attended the ceremony. 

The Republic Day is celebrated across the nation on Jetha 15 (May 29) every year in commemoration of the day the republican system was proclaimed on the backing of the historical people's movement of 2006 AD (2062-063 BS). 

This year republic day will be celebrated for three days, May 27, 28 and 29, in the embassies inside and outside of country by celebrating different programs including dipawali, a festival of light.
