Raya appointed as Auditor General, Shakya nominated as NA member

Kathmandu, April 18: President Ramchandra Paudel on Thursday appointed Toyam Raya as the Auditor General of Nepal at the recommendation of the Constitutional Council.   

President Paudel appointed Raya to the post of Auditor General in accordance with Article 240 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, reads a press release issued by the Spokesperson of the Office of the President, Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai. 

Similarly, the President has nominated Dr Anjan Shakya as a member of the National Assembly based on the recommendation of the government, according to the press release.

President Paudel nominated Shakya to the post in accordance with Article 86 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

A cabinet meeting held on April 12 had recommended before the President to nominate Shakya to the vacant post of the NA member. (RSS)
