CIT Minister Sharma assumes office, study panel on potential for bandwidth platform in Nepal formed

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 6: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma assumed office at Singh Durbar after she took oath of office and secrecy from President Ramchandra Paudel.

As the first decision of her second tenure as the CIT Minister, Minister Sharma signed on the decision to form a study panel on possibility of Bandwidth Platform (international internet gateway) in Nepal.

The study committee will prepare report on status of import and export of international internet bandwidth in Nepal, potential and relevance of bandwidth platform in Nepal.

Referring to her over a year long tenure as the CIT minister in the previous coalition government, the newly appointed Minister said she would now focus on restructuring CIT sector as foundation of that was laid after excavation of the sector during her first tenure.
