Good governance is base of socialism: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, Feb 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has viewed the journey begun for good governance, social justice and prosperity as the journey of socialism.

Good governance is a foundation of socialism, while corruption control is a must for building good governance, PM Prachanda stressed while addressing a programme here Friday. "Socialism is unachievable unless the rights of poor and peasants are addressed," he asserted.

The PM further said everyone should be entitled to wages proportionate to their work. "Good governance, social justice and journey of prosperity are therefore interlinked," he buttressed.

According to him, the country became a federal democratic republic based on workers' unity, right thoughts and leadership. He urged the audience not to take negatively the sacrifice in various movements, but mull the achievements on the fronts of inclusion- rights of women, indigenous, Madhesi and Muslims. The present situation resulted after the sacrifices of martyrs, PM Prachanda reminded.

The workers and peasants are the leaders of the socialist revolution, he said, suggesting the workers be clear in their thoughts.

On the occasion, the PM stated that some reactionary forces were trying to challenge the present achievement of the federal democratic republic which must be frustrated.

The backlogs of transitional justice would be sorted out after making a law on it, which, he argued, would ensure reparation and respect for the conflict victims. (RSS)
