Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, has directed the
Superintendent of Police to do quality work for peace and security,
service and good governance.
DPM Shrestha wished SPs transferred as chiefs of various districts and offices for a successful tenure and directed them to do quality work for peace and security, service and good governance.

34 SPs were transferred as new chiefs in 22 district
offices, seven police units, and four traffic police offices on January 15.
In the greetings and guidance programme held on Thursday
morning at the Ministry of Home Affairs, among the presence of Secretary Dinesh
Bhattarai and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, DPM
Shrestha has urged to diligently work in the respective working areas after
setting goals of good governance, social justice and prosperity.
Earlier, DPM Shrestha had directed collectively to
all the Chief District Officers who had shouldered new responsibilities to work
on government’s priorities by inviting them to the Ministry for greetings.
Shrestha has started giving necessary
instructions to officials before taking charge of newly shouldered responsibilities.
The ministry leadership also believes that this will encourage the officials to work and show efficiency by understanding the government’s workload, policies and programs.

DPM Shrestha has been directed to face the administrative
and security challenges by the law without hesitation,
pressure, and influence, as the government has already started the transfer policy based on capacity, efficiency, and opportunities, not based on access and various interests.
There will be no manipulation of forces and
middlemen in transfers, promotions or appointments and if there is any weakness
while conducting responsibilities, immediate action will be taken.
