China Foundation distributes warm clothes to students in Kanchanpur

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 9: China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD)  distributed warm packs to 1,249 children of Kanchanpur district, aiming to deliver love of Chinese people during the auspicious occasion of approaching Spring Festival, also called Chinese New Year.

The support was delivered through 11 community schools of Bedkot, Suklaphanta and Krishnapur Municipalities of the district, according to a press note issued by the CFRD. The foundation has been implementing such program since 2019, to help needy community school children endure the severe winter with ease.


The distribution ceremony held at Udaydev Secondary School of Bedkot Municipality, in presence of Member of the Provincial Assembly Bahadur Singh Thapa, as Chief Guest, and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Suklaphata Municipality, Deputy Mayor Belkot Municipality, representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, School Management Committee members, teachers, students and parents, marked a collaborative effort to spread warmth and cheer to support those in need, read the press note.

On the occasion, Provincial lawmaker Thapa highlighted the commendable efforts of Chinese organization in supporting backward communities and advocated for enhancing the educational standards in community schools.


As the Chinese New Year celebration continues, the warmth of generosity and compassion continues to permeate through the community, bringing hope and comfort to those in need. The distribution of warm clothes was held on Sunday, February 3, just a week before the Chinese New Year.

Earlier, the CFRD has distributed 1,000 solar lights to quake-affected students in Jajarkot.
