More than 17,000 children to be vaccinated against measles, rubella

By Rekhi Ram Rana, Tansen, Feb 9: The preparation to start the vaccination campaign against measles and rubella in more than 17,000 children in Palpa district is underway. 

Preparation is underway to inoculate around 17, 845 children under five years against measles and Rubella.  

According to the Health Office, Palpa, vaccines will be inoculated in two phases in eight Rural Municipalities and two Municipalities of Palpa. The first phase will commence from February 25 to 28. 

According to Dr Rajendra Kumar Giri, Chief of the Health Office, Palpa, the first phase of the vaccine will be administered in Tansen Municipality, Ribdikot Rural Municipality, Baganaskali Rural Municipality, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality, Mathagadi Rural Municipality and Tinau Rural Municipality.

Likewise, the second phase of the vaccine will start from March 4-7 at Rampur Municipality, Rambha Rural Municipality, Purbakhola Rural Municipality, and Nisdi Rural Municipality.

Before the campaign, detailed planning, training to health workers, interviews with stakeholders and camping will run aiming the inculcation campaign. 

According to the information officer of the Health Office, Palpa, Tikaram Adhikari, the vaccine will be administered in 250 vaccine centers across the district.
