Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that the government has kept
the respect, protection and promotion of human rights in its top priority.
Addressing a ceremony organized to hand over human rights award at
Singha Durbar, PM Prachanda said the government has been according high respect
to all rights including human rights.
"Human rights is the foundation of Nepal's constitution, laws, periodic plans, government's policy and programme, institutional arrangements," said the PM, "The government has embraced the fact that protection of human civilization, norms and values cannot be possible without human rights."
On the occasion, PM Prachanda awarded Dr. Renu Raj Bhandari with the human rights award under individual category and Madhes Human Rights Home (MaHuRi-Home) under the institutional category.
