Shooting of ‘The World’s Happiest Man’ concludes

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb.1: The shooting of ‘Bhutan’ in Nepali and ‘The World’s Happiest Man’ in English, directed by Binod Paudel, has been concluded.

 Hari Bansha Acharya, Dayahang Rai, Pooja Chand Lama, Richa Ghimire, Bhuwan Pyakurel, Aditi Pyakurel, and Kaushila Khanal Karmacharya from Nepal, Anuradha Majumder from India, and world-famous Hollywood actor Bruce Dern from America have joined the cast.

 The director of ‘Saanghuro,’ Joes Pandey, and the successful personality of the Nepali theatre sector, Bimal Subedi, will also be seen in the movie. 

According to a press statement issued by Awaken Production,  the film shooting was completed recently after continuous efforts of five years.  

Director Paudel said “This will be the first Union (SAG) movie for Nepal. Not only Bruce Dern but also famous Hollywood technicians are involved, making the technical side of this movie very strong,” read the statement.

 “We are confident that the story will be absorbed by the world, and we believe we will reach the world market through this movie. This is a matter of pride for Nepal and the Nepali people,” he added. Produced by Mad Monkey Films, Hollywood’s Vacant Light, Everest Entertainment, Thakurathi Bros, and Awaken Productions from Nepal have collaborated for the movie.

 Its executive producers are Kaushila Khanal Karmacharya, L.N. Adhikari, Apar Shrestha, Ramesh Bhatt, while Rajendra Thakurathi,  Amitabh Joshi, and Abeeral Thapa are the producers. 

The film is planned to be released and screened worldwide by the end of 2024. 

‘The World’s Happiest Man’ participated in the 2019 Busan Asian Project Market under the title ‘Akron International.’
