Kathmandu, Jan 24: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority
(CIAA) has arrested former managing director of Nepal Telecom, Sunil Paudel; and former executive director of Security Printing Centre, Bikal Paudel on the charge of corruption.
The anti-graft body arrested them in accusation of illegally stashing money in foreign banks, according to CIAA Spokesperson Narahari Ghimire.
The CIAA had already filed case against them for amassing property illegally. Moreover, they were found working as consultants in the international organizations even while serving in Nepal government.
The CIAA further shared that Bikal Paudel had acquired permanent work permission from the US. He was held on Wednesday so that he would not be able to destroy evidences and leave the country.
His arrest would help intensify investigation, Spokesperson Ghimire added.(RSS)
