By Bishnu Prasad Pokharel, Damak, Jan 3: A girl, who was seriously injured by falling into the hot soup, a traditional eatery of animals, has died in the course of the treatment. A two-year Srishti Tuduka, daughter of Gopal Tuduka, from Barhadashi Rural Municipality, Jhapa, died while receiving treatment.

It has been said that the deceased baby girl did not receive treatment for five days even after injury due to poor economic status. She was admitted to Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, Kathmandu, with support from the EasyCare Foundation, as treatment could not be administered at the local level.

Ujjwal Bikram Thapa, Caretaker of the EasyCare Foundation, said that Srishti could not be saved despite all the possible efforts.

The Member of Parliament (MP) from Constiuency-3, Jhapa, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden, said that the girl child died because the treatment of the burn was not possible at the local level.

“There needs to be public awareness campaign about the treatment of the burn from local levels,” Lingden shared on his social media.

There is no provision for easy treatment for burns in the Jhapa district.
