By Our Correspondent,Damak, Dec. 26: Wishing for world peace, a team from Assam, India, has arrived in Mangsebung, a holy place of Kirat devotees in Ilam. The team concluded their walk by meeting religious leader Atmanand Lingden at Larumba in Mangsebung Rural Municipality. A grand programme was organised on Sunday at Niji Guru Ashram Darshanalaya located in Mangsebung- 5 to welcome the devotees.
Four persons, Suman Lohorung Rai, Panch Bahadur Rumdali Rai, Amit Kumar Saba and Santa Bahadur Bhiivak, started their religious pilgrimage from Lakhimpur district of Assam, India, on November 18.
The team entered Nepal from the Kakadbhitta border crossing and reached the religious tourist place of Larumba on Sunday through Jhapa. The team reached their final destination on the 36th day of their journey and were honoured by various organisations related to Kirant religion right from Kakadbhitta in Jhapa.
Kehersing Yonghang, President of Kirat Chotlung Muhingum Angsi Manggenna Seva, said that the team with pictures of religious leaders and Gurumothers, promoting Mangsebung, have been honoured. He said that it has greatly helped the development of religious tourism and faith in this region.
On that occasion, Kirant religious leader Atmanand Lingden welcomed and thanked the pilgrims for coming to the area and said that world peace would be possible if everyone showed their determination to it.
Religious Guru Atmanand Lingden moved to Larumba from Ibhang, a village near it, and has been living in Larumba of Mangsebung village since 1978. Larumba, since then, has been developed as a religious place.
Atmananda is the eldest son of Mahaguru Falgunanda's eldest brother. Nowadays, Larumba is also being developed as a place to study the religious texts of the Kirant community.
Larumba lies in a hill of Ilam, 25 km away from Damak, Jhapa.
