Kathmandu, Dec 17: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the government was advancing towards its policy and purpose.
At a news conference organized to share the cabinet decisions at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Sunday, Minister Sharma said the cabinet meeting has approved the Plan of Action on Fossil Fuel Reduction and Increment of Electricity Consumption 2060 BS.
Likewise, the meeting decided to provide a total of 329 ropani of land at Phaktanglung Rural Municipality in Tapjlejung district for the development of Ghunsakhola Hydropower Project.
The cabinet meeting held on December 14 also decided to compensate the affected households along the Nijgadh-Bardibas section meant for the development of East-West Electrified Railway Project.
Similarly, seven government secretaries were transferred and seniormost Joint-Secretary of Foreign Affairs Service, Sewa Lamsal, was prompted to the post of Secretary, Minister Sharma shared.
Furthermore, the cabinet has decided to approve a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mobilization of Canadian volunteers.
According to Minister Sharma, the Ministry of Culture has been assigned to sign a MoU for the exchange of cooperation on cultural sector between the Nepal government and Government of Qatar.
During the conference, Minister Sharma said the government was continuously working for austerity and promote good-governance and ensure prompt service delivery by keeping the national interests at the centre.
On a separate context, she said that the ruling parties have held no discussion on cabinet reshuffle. (RSS)
