Two killed in road mishap

Lumbini, Dec 2: Two persons died on the spot in a road accident at Lumbini of Rupandehi this morning. 

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Irsad, 21, and Rubina Khatun, 16, of Lumbini Saskritik municipality-4, said Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, Manohar Bhatta.     

The accident took place when a school bus (Lu 1 Ka 1778) of Siddhartha Pratibha Boarding School, Suryapura, hit a motorcycle (Lu 37 Pa 8482) while they were travelling at Lumbini Kakarahawa road section.     

Bhatta shared that Apasara Khatun, 17, was injured in the incident. She is undergoing treatment at Bhairahawa-based Universal Medical College.     

Irate locals have torched the school bus after the incident. Search for the school bus driver is underway, said police. The incident took place when the school bus carrying students was heading for a trip. (RSS)
