Damauli, Nov 17: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, has said health sector is the special priority of the province government.

While addressing an inauguration of the Abukhaireni Hospital at Abukhaireni rural municipality in Tanahu on Friday, the Chief Minister said, "Health sector is the first priority of the government."

According to him, the government has not reduced the budget for health in the current fiscal year and the dialysis facility was significantly strengthened. Kidney patients need not to wait for long for dialysis.

Time to secure dialysis has been significantly reduced- from queue of over 900 patients down to 254 now for the turn, he said, expressing commitment to further minimize it to zero.

Similarly, monetary assistance up to Rs 100 thousand has been ensured for a cancer patient and preparations are going on to provide free treatment in community hospitals for children below 10 and the people above 60, he said.

On a different note, he echoed the significance of guaranteeing effective implementation of the federalism by defeating those forces which, he said, intend to reverse the achievements made so far.(RSS)
