UN Chief to address Parliament today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 31: Visiting UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is to address the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday. Parliament Secretariat informed that the address is scheduled for 4:00 PM. 

All preparations, decorations inside and outside the meeting hall, invitation distribution and others, for the address had been complete. UN Secretary General Guterres is expected to raise issues of climate change, peace process and contemporary situation in Nepal and beyond in his address in the House.  

Meanwhile, House Speaker Devraj Ghimire also supervised administrative and technical aspects of the House building where the joint session is scheduled for Tuesday evening for the address of UN Secretary General. 

The Speaker instructed high level officials of the Parliament Secretariat to make arrangements without any errors.

General Secretary of the parliament Dr. Bharatraj Gautam, Secretary of the House of Representatives, Padam Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the National Assembly, Dr. Surendra Aryal, spokesperson Ekram Giri and other officials were present during the inspection.
