ATWS 2023 Concludes in Hokkaido

Kathmandu, Sept. 17: The Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) 2023 hosted at the Sapporo Convention Center in Hokkaido, Japan has concluded Friday, leaving the adventure travel industry buzzing with excitement about the future of adventure travel sector.

This four-day event brought together adventure enthusiasts, travel professionals, and industry leaders from around the globe, offering a platform for discussions, collaborations, and exploration, said Shahadev Shrestha, CEO of Everest Pioneer Trek Nepal.

Shrestha shared that standout experiences of ATWS 2023 was thrilling, which saw enthusiastic participation from adventure seekers and travel professionals alike.

He said, 'this unforgettable summit not only provided an opportunity for exhilarating adventures but also facilitated crucial meetings between American buyer companies and world-class tourism representatives. We have shared about Nepal destinations to them and they seem quite interested.'

According to him, along with 6 tour operators, Everest Pioneer has shared insights into how this unique journey to the Everest region had sparked renewed enthusiasm among adventure travelers from North America and the Middle East, making Nepal a must-visit destination once again.

The Adventure Travel World Summit 2023 served as a platform for promoting Nepal's tourist destinations to Northern American and European countries, generating considerable interest among attendees.

The CEO of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), Shannon Stowell, expressed optimism for the industry's future in his closing remarks. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to educate and promote adventure travel in collaboration with the AWTS Executive Committee from Hokkaido, underscoring the commitment to build on the success of this year's summit.

Looking ahead, the Adventure Travel Trade Association announced exciting news for the adventure travel community. ATWS 2024 is set to take place in a Central American country, Panama, further expanding the reach of adventure tourism and showcasing the diverse opportunities for adventure seekers around the world.
