Makawanpur, Sept 15 : All the medical services except emergency and pharmacy at different hospitals and health institutions have been shut down in Makawanpur district to protest manhandling of doctors.
The medical services have been shut
down to protest manhandling of Dr Bikas Thapa and Prashant Bidari of Sancho
Hospital at Hetauda sub-metropolis-1 on Wednesday. Relatives of Rakesh Pradhan
entered the hospital premises on Wednesday and manhandled the doctors, saying
Pradhan died due to negligence of doctors in treatment.
Suffering from dengue, Pradhan, 41,
of Hetauda-12, died one month ago in course of treatment at Sancho
Hospital.

Hospital, Dr Ram Chandra Sapkota, said all the health services except emergency
and pharmacy have been closed after doctors and health workers launched
agitation, citing insecurity.
He shared that Hetauda Hospital has
also shut down all services except emergency and pharmacy to protest the
incident.
Similarly, other hospitals and
health institutions in the district have closed all medical services except
emergency. Seventy-eight health workers including doctors of Hetauda Hospital
have resigned en masse, citing insecurity, mentioned Sapkota. (RSS)
