Okhaldhunga court records witness statement remotely

Okhaldhunga, Sept 14 : For the first time ever, the District Court of Okhaldhunga has recorded a witness statement remotely via video conferencing.

Last Monday, the Court recorded the statement of the victim of incestuous rape through video conference, Pramod Rijal, magistrate and information officer at the District could, informed.

 The victim was undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur and was not in the condition to come to the court physically. 

So, the statement was recorded digitally.

The court hopes to continue this system to benefit people with disabilities or other problems that make them unable to be present at the court in person.
