By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 13: The shooting of the upcoming film ‘Rangeli’ began on Tuesday with a target to release it by the upcoming Mahashivratri festival.

The inaugural scene was shot in Itahari, Sunsari.

Directed by Arjun Subedi, the film will be shot in Rangeli, Karsiya, Kathari, Biratnagar, and Birtamod.

Monday was an auspicious time with script and camera pooja at the Kali temple in Rangeli, Morang.

Notably, most of the lead cast was absent during the ceremony. Producer Jeetendra Khatiwoda said that even though some actors were absent at the beginning, they would join later.

Currently, one of the lead actors, Dayahang Rai is attending the Toronto Film Festival in Canada while Miruna Magar is occupied with the promotion of another film.

Now, the film shooting is underway with actor Prabin Khatiwada. Major actors like Arpan Thapa, Miruna Magar, and Ramesh Budhathoki are expected to arrive by Wednesday with Dayahang Rai joining the following week.

A unique feature of the movie is a song set to Sushant Gautam's music, which will be recorded live with the acclaimed Budapest Orchestra in Europe – a first for a Nepali movie.

The song's lyrics are penned by Harak Saud, and it will feature the voices of Sanup Paudel and Anu Chaudhary. Other tracks in the movie will be composed by Sushant Gautam and Hercules Basnet.

The film is scheduled to be released on March 8.

Both written and directed by Arjun Subedi, the movie is a collaboration between executive producers Jeetendra Khatiwoda and Anuj Jung Thapa.
