Malekhu, Aug 23:
The bus that met with an accident this morning on its way to Pokhara from
Kathmandu was due to over speeding, according to the preliminary
investigation.
Superintendent
of Police at the District Police office, Dhading, Gautam Mishra, said the bus
might have plunged in Trishuli river while overtaking another bus or trying to
avoid a pothole.
There is
waterfall and a small bridge without railing near the incident site and there
is around two-meter long potholes on the road near the bridge. Bridge and
waterfall have made difficulties in two-way vehicular movement at the
place.
Gautam shared,
"The bus might have met with accident either overtaking another bus or
avoiding the pothole. The accident took place due to road condition as well as
weakness of the driver."
The bus
(Province 3-01-005 Kha 9952) heading towards Beni of Myagdi from Kathmandu via
Pokhara plunged into the Trishuli river at Gajuri-2 of Dhading on Wednesday
morning.
Eight people
were killed and 17 were injured in the accident. (RSS)
