Rains likely across country, intense rains predicted in Sudur Pashchim

Kathmandu, Aug 13 : Today there is mostly cloudy throughout the country while light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at most of the places of the country, according to Meteorological Forecasting Division.   

 
As the Division says, today there are chances of heavy to very heavy rain with thunder and lightning at a few places of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and at one or two places of Madesh Province.    

Likewise, tonight it has predicted generally to mostly cloudy throughout the country with the potentiality of the occurrence of light to moderate rain at most of the places of the country.  

  
Heavy to very heavy rain with thunder and lightning has been forecast at some places of Karnali and Sudur Pashchim, at a few places of Koshi , Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Province.    
It has predicted chances of extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places of Sudur Pashchim Province.    

The Kathmandu Valley is receiving the rainfall since this morning.  

  
The Division says presently the axis of monsoon trough is located towards north (near Nepal) from the average position while Nepal experiences influences of a low pressure area surrounding the Utter Pradesh and Bihar states of India.  (RSS)
