By Thakur Prasad Acharya,Myagdi, Aug. 2: With the famous Galeshwor Dham of Beni Municipality–9, Myagdi, emerging as a popular pilgrimage spot, big hotels have started popping up in the area.

Known as the gateway to Mustang, the important Shiva temple along the Kaligandaki Corridor has started attracting large numbers of Indian tourists of late.

Due to its proximity to the main Beni market and its tranquil environment, Galeshwor offers a quiet destination away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. However, because there are not many hotels here, tourists are forced to travel elsewhere for residence.

According to Padam Chhantyal, manager of Hotel Paradise that opened here two years ago, people currently find it hard to find hotel rooms during tourist season.

Baburam Acharya, a hotelier who has been in the business for 20 years and who operates Hotel Yak, has begun work on a new hotel at Galeshwor.

The hotel is being built on two Ropanis of land with an investment of Rs. 140 million.  "I see Galeshwor becoming a religious hub in the future.  That is why I am building this new hotel," Acharya said.

"The increasing number of tourists also shows a need for more hotels."

Acharya believed that the number of tourists would increase further after the Beni-Jomson-Korala road was upgraded and brought into operation.

"After this, the tourists who come to Beni will easily be able to come to Galeshwor," he said.
