Phikkal, July 31 : Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has said traditions should not be forgotten in the name of tourism development.

At a programme organised by Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam to release the budget of the current fiscal year 2080/81, Minister Kirati stressed that the infrastructures constructed for tourism promotion should reflect the history.

He mentioned that the nature itself is beautiful in Nepal and it is not necessary to construct view towers in cliffs.

Expressing the belief that tourism development would have significant contribution to economy, the Tourism Minister argued that it was necessary to move ahead making policy-level improvements for tourism promotion.

Similarly, lawmaker Mahesh Basnet said that limited budget was allocated for tourism development though several programmes were required for tourism development in Ilam.

Likewise, Mayor Rana Baahdur Rai said the municipality has been working for its development. (RSS)
