Kathmandu, June 30 : The Ministry of Forest and Environment has marked the 6th National Tree Plantation Day on Thursday by organizing various events for the protection and promotion of forest and environment.
In Nepal, Asar 14 is marked as the
National Tree Plantation Day.
The Department of Forest and Soil
Conservation stated that 157,580 saplings of different species were planted as
per the reports received from across the country.
The Department has thanked the
local communities, local levels, province governments, forest users groups,
civil society, security bodies and all stakeholders for their active
participation to make the Day a success.
In the upcoming fiscal year, the
government has planned to plant 30 million saplings across the country. (RSS)
