Announcement of “Production within, Subsidy in hand' program

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 29: The government has announced a program for farmers, “Production within, Subsidy in hand.”

Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, said that the program was developed to encourage farmers on production while presenting a budget for the fiscal year 2023/24. 

He said that the agricultural subsidy will be made based on production with the slogan, “production within, Subsidy in hand.” All other types of agricultural subsidies will be made based on production, except the subsidies given for seed purchase, chemical fertilizers, insurance, and mechanization. 

According to this, to make the grant system systematic and transparent, new standards and procedures will be formulated and implemented by the end of July. 

Rs 58 arab, 98 crores is allocated for the agriculture sector.
