Bill relating to citizenship sent to President for authentication: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, May 27 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has made it clear that the bill relating to citizenship was sent to the President for authentication.The Council of Ministers had forwarded it to the President, he added.     

PM Prachanda, while furnishing clarification to the lawmakers' queries, assured that the problems relating to citizenship bill would be resolved this time.     

Similarly, he said issues of trade and transit would be discussed with India during his visit. However, the issues relating to 1950 Treaty will be addressed via diplomatic dialogue with Indian representatives. PM Prachanda further shared that he would propose a concrete plan on establishment of factory to produce chemical fertilizers in the country.     

"I believe agreement would be made on trade and transit which is pending since 2019," PM Prachanda assured lawmakers.     

The land related problems would be solved within two years, according to him. Similarly, new act would be introduced to control corruption. Government's attention was drawn seriously towards policy level corruption, the PM stated.     

Moreover, PM Prachanda said government's attention was drawn towards to Chure exploitation and desertification of Tarai region. Necessary policy level decision would be taken on the Ruby Valley, he informed.     

He informed the House that the new budget will run employment-generating training directly from the local level to reduce the exodus of Nepali migrant workers abroad. "Against the backdrop that the grant amount given in the past were not properly utilised, we are bringing new programmes in an integrated manner directly under the rural municipality this time," according to the PM.     

On the occasion, PM Prachanda said the issues of corruption are being probed in a fair manner and a high-level commission is working to resolve the problems people facing from the loan sharking.     

PM Prachanda added that the government's serious attention has been drawn to resume the sick and closed industries and stated that there will be no crisis in supply of chemical fertilizer this year.     

Furthermore, the PM said the issue of climate change would be sensitized in the global forums.     

In the budget speech, the agendas of the West Seti Project and sickle cell anemia would also be incorporated and added that the Madi reservoir-based project would be advanced with new vigor, which was started after a memorandum of understanding between Nepal and China.     

The petrol mining of Dailekh, protection of sportspersons, jute farming, construction of Darchula's Tinker road, promotion of public academic institutions and upgrading Dhangadhi Airport, among others are the key priorities of the government, he said. (RSS)
