By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 15: The Kathmandu district court has permitted
Nepal police to keep CPN (UML) secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in custody for
investigation for three days.
The police arrested Rayamajhi Sunday
evening in connection to his involvement in the plot to send Nepalis to the USA
under the cover of Bhutanese refugees by taking money from the Nepalis.
UML leader Rayamajhi was
presented at the court for adding period to investigate him with regard to his
involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
Shankar Paudel, advocate at the
Kathmandu district court, informed that the police was given a period of three
days to keep Rayamajhi in custody for investigation.
An arrest warrant was issued
against Rayamajhi on May 3. However, he absconded and the police nabbed him 11
days after the warrant on May 14 from a house at Budhanilakantha in Kathmandu.
Earlier, the police arrested NC
leader and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, former Home Secretary Tek
Narayan Pande to investigate for their involvement in the same case.
