27 injured in bus accident in Tanahun

By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, May 15: At least 27 passengers sustained injuries when a bus met with an accident at Sardi, Vyas Municipality-5, along the Prithvi Highway today.

According to the Police, 27 people passengers got injured when a bus with the registration number Ga 1 Kha 9635 Na heading to Pokhara from Kathmandu went out of control this morning.

A team led by Abadesh Bista Chhetri, Chief of the District Police Office, Tanahun, rescued the injured passengers and took them to the hospital for treatment.

Raj Kumar B.K, Police Inspector, said that Bishnu Prasad Chapai, aged 21, Barwa, from Phalebas Municipality -10, Parbat is receiving treatment at Ratnahari Hospital, Damauli. The other 26 are receiving treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH), Pokhara.

Driver Sunil BK, aged 27, from Begnas Tal, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City- 31, Kaski, Shiva Hari Shrestha, aged 47, from Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Chet Bahadur Ranabhat, aged 39, from Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-21 are receiving treatment in Pokhara.

Likewise, co-driver Subin Kunwar, aged 37, from Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-15, Kaski, and other co-driver, Sushil Shrestha, aged 19, from Nawalpur, Gaidakot Municiplaity-8 got injured in the accident.

Six Indian Nationals, Prabhat Kumar Singh, aged 33, from Patna, Bihar, India, and his wife, Anamika Singh, aged 29. Sunita Devi Dhadd, aged 45, Rohit Kumar, aged 18, Anjali Sah, aged 20, and her one-year-old son, Aditya Sah from Patna, Bihar sustained injury.

Kopila Rai, aged 50, from Buipa Municipality-14, Khotang, Kul Bahadur Rai, aged 47 from Mahakulung Rural Municipality-1 Solukhumbu District, Newang Sherpa from Mahakulung Rural Municipality-2, Solukhumbu, Tek Bahadur Thapa Magar, aged 32 from Phalebas Municipality -2, Parbat, Soni Polami, aged 30, from Kalika Chowk, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Kaski, got injured.

Tika Ram Neupane, aged 27, from Paiyun Rural Municipality-1, Parbat, Raj Kumar Majhi, aged 25, and Bikash Bartaula, aged 17 from Birauta, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Kaski, and Saurav Shrestha, aged 20, from Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Kaski sustained injury.

Likewise, Upendra Gharti, aged 25, from Tarakhola Municipality-5, Baglung, Amrit Thapa, aged 25, and Sabina Tamang, aged 25  from Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City -19, Raj Kumar Buda, aged 25,  from Mugu and currently residing in Tinchuli Kathmandu-6. Ashmita  Chhantyal, aged 20, from Somantola Rural Municility-1, Baglung, and currently living in Zero Kilometer, Pokhara, sustained injury in the accident.

Police said that investigation on the matter is underway.
