No one involved in fake Bhutanese refugee scam will be spared: DPM, Home Minister Shrestha

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has vowed that everyone involved in the fake Bhutanese refuges scam will be brought to justice.

"I have instructed the police and other related organisations under the ministry to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into this refugee case so that no culprit is spared while no innocent is trapped," said DPM and Home Minister Shrestha at a meeting with the office bearers of Press Center Nepal.

The DPM made it clear that none involved in the crime will be spared, no matter whether the individual is a member of the Maoist Center party or any other party.

DPM Shrestha is also the senior vice-Chair of CPN (Maoist Center).

"Crime is crime, it is not related with any political party nor the investigation is targeted against any party," he said, adding, "The fake Butanese refugee case is an organized crime and also a treason."

He said the investigation will be taken forward as long as evidence supports it and then brought to a conclusion by bringing culprits to justice.

On a different not, DPM and Home Minister Shrestha highlighted that much work has been done with regard to ensuring justice to the victims of the loan shark.

"We have done five works related to this. Ordinance has been issued so that court verdict goes in favour of the victim. Second, commission has been formed to receive complaints, investigate into cases and submit reports with its conclusion case by case. People involved in loan sharking will also be brought to justice by means of anti-money laundering law and fifth, any action against the victims of loan shark as per the court verdict has been stalled," said the DPM.

The Home Minister who started with cancelling the provision of spy fee for the Home Minister and Secretary said steps were taken to make transfer and promotion in the police organization fair and well-managed.

He said not only millions of rupees was saved by revoking the agreement on national identity card with a foreign company but the data of Nepalis going abroad was also stopped.
