By Narad Kohar, Taulihawa, May 12: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kapilvastu, has started providing electronic passport service from 7 AM in the morning because of the spike in the number of service seekers.
The DAO has extended its service to two shifts a day. It is said that the DAO office has extended the service time to two shifts every day from May 12 from 7 AM To 6 PM.
Shankar Hari Acharya, Chief District Officer (CDO) said that the first shift gives service from 1 AM to 11 AM and the second shift takes its turn from 11 AM to 6 PM.
CDO Acharya said, “The service delivery time has been extended by changing the limit of office hours from 10 Am to 5 PM so that the passport applications can be made in one day thereby managing the increased service seekers flow.”
He said that the office has managed the arrangement of filling up the passport application form online directly within the office.
For this, preparations are underway for the extended service of Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBBL) for the convenience of the service seekers. This will decrease the hassles faced by the service users in paying the revenue.
He said that bearing in mind the convenience of the service seekers, DAO has issued a public notice regarding the provision of services that the DAO gives even on public holidays besides Saturdays.
Service seekers were compelled to go through a middleman to fill up the form to submit to DAO.
“We received the complaint that the service seekers are facing difficulties in filling up the form and spend even Rs 2,000 to Rs 6,000 for the purpose, so, we facilitate it by making the provision of filling forms in the DAO,” said Anil Poudel, Assistant Chief District Officer.
He said that the office hours will go normal once the pressure is managed.
