‘Govt ready to make foreign employment rules practical’

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 10: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sarat Singh Bhandari has said that the government is ready to formulate policy and rules related to foreign employment practical and more effective.

During a meeting with a delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at the Ministry on Tuesday, Minister Bhandari assured that he would discuss and work in consultation with the private sector on labour sector issues, including skill development.

He said that he would implement the suggestion made by the FNCCI on behalf of the private sector for the economic development of the country.

The delegation led by its president Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that strong cooperation between the government and the private sector was a must in order to minimise the impact recession on business operations and employment in this situation, as the data confirmed that the country's economy is heading towards recession.

He also emphasised on skill development according to the demand of the labour market both in home and abroad. 

He also drew the attention of Minister Bhandari to review some impractical policies and rules.
