Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has instructed the Inland Revenue Office, Department of Revenue Investigation and Department of Commerce and Supply Management to jointly and
effectively conduct market monitoring.
Prime Minister Prachanda issued the instruction
while discussing with the sandals and shoe entrepreneurs at Singh Durbar today.
"All the policy and legal provisions to control
revenue evasion should be implemented effectively. The Inland Revenue Office,
revenue investigation department and department of commerce needs to jointly and
effectively conduct market monitoring," said the PM.
He also directed the to review the related policy so
that there is some difference in percentage points at least 10 per cent, on raw
material, finished product or customs of the product.
PM Prachanda also directed the concerned authorities
to formulate policy prioritizing use of domestic product by all the government
agencies.
He also underlined the need for a national standard for
imports so as to maintain quality.
"Monitoring should not be limited to only at the borders, make arrangement for monitoring the internal market," he said. According to the PM’s secretariat, Finance Secretary Toyam Raya, Secretary (revenue) Ram Prasad Ghimire, secretary of PM’s office Ganesh Prasad Pandey, Director General of Internal Revenue Department Dirgha Raj Mainali, Director General of Department of Revenue Investigation Narayan Prasad Sapkota, Director General Chakra Bahadur Budha, entrepreneurs and official of PM secretariat attended the discussion.

domestic products in its policy, programme and implementation.
