By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 21: The 6th edition of Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) concluded on Monday. In the five-day festival, 'Ainaa Jhyal Ko Putali', directed by Sujit Bidari won multiple awards. It received the Best film, Script Writer, Best Director and Special Mention Award in a special ceremony held in the presence of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati in the capital Monday evening.
Sujit Bidari received the Best Director and Best Script Writer awards for his 'Ainaa Jhyal Ko Putali', while child actor Dinesh Khatri received the Special Mention Award.
Likewise, Nepali feature film 'Prakash' received three awards, including Best Actor Male, Best Actor Female and the Best Cinematographer. Actor Pradeep Khadka, actress Deeya Maskey and cinematographer Rajesh Shrestha won the awards for the film Prakash.
Likewise, under the national short film category, Pradhumna Mishra received the Best Director Award for the film 'Dubidha' while Nepali feature film 'The Secrets of Radha' received the Special Mention Jury Award.
Short film 'Junko' bagged Panchakanya Award along with a purse of Rs. 50,000 and the Iranian film 'The Book' received the Bagmati Award for the best international short film with a prize of US dollar 500.
AK Sherpa Award was presented to 'Tiger's Jaw' under the National Documentary while Mount Everest Award went to Indonesian film 'Mentawai- Souls of the Forest'.
Likewise, under the Best International Short Film category 'The Book' received the Bagmati Award while 'Memories of Gloomy Monsoons' received the Gautam Buddha Award along with 1500 US dollar.
A total of 95 films from 35 countries were screened in the sixth edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) that had begun in Kathmandu on March 16.
This year the selected films were screened in the in four theatres under the QFX cinemas at Chhaya Centre and Civil Mall in Kathmandu, Labim Mall in Lalitpur and QFX.
