Malekhu, March 18: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Shalikram Jamakattel has underscored the need of political stability for the smooth operation of the business.

He made this statement in his address to the 29th annual general assembly of the Dhading Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dhadingbesi on Saturday.
“Industrialists and businesspersons have their important roles in making Nepal prosperous. To strengthen their roles, the state should formulate required policies,” he said.

The country’s economy is declining, and for its improvements, bank interest rates should be slashed to a single digit, he stated.

The provincial and federal governments have been at work to do the needful in this regard, he added.

“Bank interest rates will not exceed a single digit. Customs problems will be resolved soon. Businesspersons are now in problems. The government is seeking ways to resolve their problems.”

Similarly, the President of the Bagmati Province Committee, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Dil Sundar Shrestha called for the Bagmati provincial government to create a new blueprint after acquiring production data so as to increase national revenue.

The FNCCI and the Bagmati provincial government should collaborate in preparing production data, he added.

Lack of coordination and collaboration between the government and the private sector fueled the economic crisis in the country, blamed lawmaker DP Aryal. Another lawmaker Ram Nath Adhikari accused the state of not adopting a relevant policy, thus creating economic problems.

Also, Nepali Congress leader and former President of the Trekking Association of Nepal Ramesh Dhamala stressed the need for proper implementation of related policies to rescue bailout businesspersons from the current crisis. (RSS)
