Kathmandu, March 17: Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, one of the Vice President candidates, said he would contribute towards making Nepal a prosperous nation by promoting national unity if he is elected to the post.
Expressing his confidence in
getting elected, the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal's leader said, "Abidance
to the constitution, its preservation and promotion of national unity would be
my priority. I will play my role to develop Nepal as a capable and prosperous
nation."
Yadav made it clear that he would
fulfil his duties as an aide to the President if he is elected the Vice
President and work sincerely for the interest of the people in accordance with
the constitutional provisions.
The voting for the election to
the Vice President kicked off at 10 am and it will run until 3 pm today.
The Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist
Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), the Rashtriya Janamorcha and his party, Janata
Samajbadi Party, have supported Yadav while the Lokatantrik Samajbadi Party and
Nagarik Unmukti Party have backed Mamata Jha of the Janamat Party.
