Gorkhapatra Corporation celebrates Digital Day

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 24: Gorkhapatra Digital Day has been celebrated by organising a special ceremony by Gorkhapatraonline.com and risingnepaldaily.com on Friday.

On the basis of Gorkhapatra Corporation's content published digitally for the first time on Feb 24, 1997, Corporation celebrated its Digital Day on Friday.

On Feb 24, 1997 corporation's publication the Rising Nepal Daily's news was published on the web for the first time in the corporation's history.

Gorkhapatra Digital Day was inaugurated by the Executive Chairman of the Corporation Bishnu Prasad Subedi.

Addressing the ceremony Chairman Subedi said that management is focusing to advance the digital platforms to reach the audience as soon as possible.

"Online doesn't have the privilege to wait even 24 seconds in place of print media's 14 hours waiting privilege." Executive Chairman Subedi said, "It is the digital platform that reaches millions of readers. So, the management is focused on making it better."

Speaking at the ceremony General Manager of the Corporation Lal Bahadur Airi said that the Digital Platform of the Gorkhapatra Corporation is needed to make it timely.

"At a time when access to the internet is increasing day by day, we should use maximum tools to invite audiences." He said, "We have no option to promote digital platforms."

Speaking at the programme Acting Editor of the Gorkhapatra Daily Shiv Kumar Bhattarai said that the credibility of the digital platforms should be increased. 

Acting Editor of the www.gorkhapatraonline.com Naradmuni Gautam and Coordinator of www.risingnepaldaily.com Nandalal Tiwari presented the activities of the respective digital platforms.
