By TRN Online, Gorahi, Feb 8: Counting
of the votes cast in the by-election for a member of the National Assembly (NA) has
started.
A total of 304 votes have been cast
out of 305 as deputy chief of Marchwar Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district
did not participate in the poll.
Of the voters, 87 members of the
Lumbini Provincial Assembly and 217 chiefs and deputy chiefs of local levels in
Lumbini cast their votes for the vacant post of a member of the NA from Lumbini
province, according to Gehenra Kunwar, information officer at Provincial Election Office, Dang.
Kumar Dashaudi of CPN (UML) from
ruling alliance, Madhav Prasad Acharya from Nepali Congress and Rajendra Bir
Ray from Nagarik Unamukti Party are contesting in the poll.
