Need to impart orientation to established online portals: Minister Sharma

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 24: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has suggested imparting orientation to editors and publishers of the established online news portal as to those of startups.

During her observation visit to Press Council Nepal (PCN) today, minister Sharma pointed out the need of further expanding and making effective the orientation and training about the code of conduct.

PCN has lately been imparting orientation to editors and publishers of new online news portal.

Saying the ministry was ready to provide necessary assistance to PCN, minister Sharma said PCN should work actively to make mass media responsible by upholding the code of conduct.

Bal Krishna Basnet, PCN Chair, underscored the need for equipping PCN with adequate human and other necessary resources.
