11 injured in Dhankuta jeep accident

By Kabiraj Ghimire, Dhanakuta, Jan. 9: At least 11 people sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep met with an accident at Beltar in Mahalaxmi Municipality-4, Dhankuta today.

According to the District Police Office, the jeep with the registration number (1 Ja 2275) heading from Chainpur, Dhankuta towards Itahari, Sunsari went out of control veering 50 meters down from the road injuring 11 of its passengers.

Laxmi Raj Adhikari, Superintendent of Police (SP), also, Chief of the District Police Office, Dhankuta said that seven of the injured are receiving treatment in the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) while four others are undergoing treatment in District Hospital Dhankuta. 

He said that the police immediately went to the spot as soon as the information about the accident was received and took the injured to the hospital. 

Pravin Koirala, driver of the ill-fated jeep, from Belbari Municipality-2, Morang is under arrest in the Police Office, Leguwa, as per the police.
