By Sher Bahadur Sarki, Bajura, Jan. 4: Five urban health posts of Badimalika Municipality have remained closed for months forcing the sick people to wait for the health workers’ arrival.

The health posts were established with the aim to provide health services in the villages.

Pata urban health center of Badimalika-1, Melkadh urban health center at Pinakhel in ward 9, Mana health center of ward 5 and Kordha urban health center of ward -6 have been closed for weeks.

These health centers became devoid of health workers after the 13th municipal meeting held in December decided not to extend the contract period of the health workers.

Lal Bahadur Hamal, a local of Pata, Badimalika-1, said the number of sick persons with cold and cough, diarrhea, and pneumonia has increased, but the health center was closed.

Hamal said people are forced to visit district hospitals for treatment as the local public health centers are closed in the lack of health workers.

Tek Bahdur Khadka, health coordinator of the Badimalika municipality, informed that new health workers will be recruited within a few days as the new vacancy for the vacant posts in the health centers has already been announced.

He said health services will resume soon from these health centers.
