BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Nepalgunj, Jan. 4: Many low-income and needy people have received treatment at a free health camp conducted in Nepalgunj, Banke district, by the Nepalgunj Electronic Association.
Despite suffering from various diseases caused by extreme cold, they could not go to the hospital due to a lack of money. Such people got a big relief as they underwent free check-ups and received medicines from specialist doctors in their homes.
Jahangir Saiyad, vice president of the Association and coordinator of the health camp, said that 135 people were examined and medicines worth Rs. 350,000 were distributed in the camp conducted in Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City-8.
A group of doctors, including Dr. Saiyad Saddam, orthopaedic, spine and rheumatologist; Dr. Anisha Upreti, dermatologist and venereologist; Salman Nizam, physiologist; and Dr. Gaurav Subedi, otolaryngologist, provided free check-up services to the people.
Most of the patients who came for health check-ups were found to be affected by the diseases related to cold, fever, arthritis, rheumatism and skin, said Dr. Salman Nizam, a physician.
Chirayu Diagnostic and Health Care Centre provided free pathology services in the camp. Jabbar Shesa of Nepalgunj -11, who came to the camp for treatment, said that many low-income people benefited by receiving free medicine and pathology service.
He appreciated the team’s ‘great work’ for providing medical services at their doorsteps.
